How I started my spiritual journey

It was the days of my learning during the year 1996-97 when I was pursuing my bachelor degree from Calcutta university. I was very sportive and better in education but very emotional by nature. I used to upset very easily and forgive  people in no time, accept them as usual. Once I with one of  my friends named Omprakash, went to Brahma Kumaris centre to learn meditation.I attended the course for three days only, while it was for seven days. However it left an indomitable impression in my mind. But the time made the knowledge a little bit fade. The real story starts when I got married at the very early age when I was only 22.Those days were very pathetic. I was about to complete my graduation and on the other side I had been preparing to get married. It was only possible because my grand father was in his eighties and his desire to see my marriage before his eyes. In India it is very common. Again emotionality engulfed me. My mental condition was something not to throw but to accept for the pleasure of my family and well being. However I got married. My life partner started living ill and I became frustrated day by day.I had to cook, wash clothes. go on errand to bring victuals and do my job. There was a satisfaction that I had been a teacher in a govt. school. I got a relief from the financial side. Now I started the treatment of my better half along with all the needful. She got the treatment for three years long but no desirable result was achieved.
One day I had been sitting and thinking deeply to get rid of my mental entangled problem. All of sudden an idea flashed upon my mind of my college days and the meditation I learned only for three days, can do something. I was crying within my heart but being a male member of the society I dared not to show my tears to others but to the God only, my spiritual father. I bacame ready for my office and decided to contact the senior sister of  the local Shyamnagar Brahma Kumaris centre on my way back home. I felt all alone in the middle of people in the train, school, market and everywhere I went that day My mind was full of sorrow. It was a hot day and scorching heat everywhere, I got down at the Shyamnagar railway station and moved forward thinking what to tell and how to confess my problems  before the  sister.
I reached there and I was greeted with the word Om Shanti. How soft and heart touching the word appeared to me it is just indescribable.  I was welcomed in the house of the spiritual father and asked the reason for coming. I  felt as though some one was  asking me to give what ever I had. It was the complete surrender I thought to offer. I started crying and my tears knew no bound to stop. I described my problems I had been  suffering from. Though I told her my main problem to her, I felt I got emancipation from my all miseries. How relaxed I felt as though the burden had gone off . I felt so light. Some one had taken my pain and given me the supreme bliss in its place. I was asked to attend the seven days meditation course which I had attended for three days only. I started  the course once again and my spiritual journey started.
I learned a lot of things and a sense of maturity came within, made me  confident, courageous, able enough to cope up any difficulty in life.  The journey that started then has completed its twelve years.
Now I am quite satisfied and happy with the grace of god.

Spirituality

When we move on the path of religion  in  search of peace, prosperity and happiness god, spirituality comes before us. Here, a question arises what does spirituality mean? spirituality comes of the word spirit which means soul. Now what does soul mean? Let us understand it means. It tells about a" living being" that tells day in and day out that -this is my hand ,my leg, my head ,my body etc. It means body and body organs belongs to the soul. It means body and soul are two different things. Soul is the master and body is owned by the soul. Let us  know more what does it mean when we simply say -I have got headache, my knee is aching, I have got backache, I have got fever. Ache and fever is with the body not with soul. The soul has the feelings through the body and its part. It means no body, no feeing is there. The soul acts through the body. Once the soul departs the body, the body is known as the dead body while with the soul it is known as the living body.

we can have an example to understand  the subject better than before. There is a car with a driver and so the car moves on. No driver no movement of the car. The driver knows how to move or drive the car, he is present in. The better the driver is, the better he runs the car making no accident, reaches his destination safely. Similarly the more experienced the soul is, the better life becomes. No accident happens. It means no anger, no stress, no anxiety, no tension, no pressure but peaceful life.

So every human being is a soul in the real sense wherever he or she lives, what so ever the behaviour is possessed by, what so ever the language he or she speaks to, what so ever the religion he or she follows.

Thus the spirituality is the path to get peace prosperity and happiness in the true sense. But the true spirituality comes when we accept ourselves a soul, feel detached from the body. I am the master of the body. The body and its organs are mine and I have the power and right to control it.
